Should I edit the xmp files of my Lightroom CS6 in Lightroom Classic?

Hello,
my main catalogue is set up in LR 6. The face recognition isn't working anymore. Can I open my Lightroom Classic, use that face recognition, save the data in the xmp and continue working in LR 6? A first test is working, but I'm afraid of overwriting anything important and crashing my whole editing...

Legend

You should be OK as long as LrC is set to Calibration> Process Version 4 or lower. That's the highest setting available and usable in LR6.
