Question

Showing little text about settings, as I change them

Hello - I'm trying to figure out what I need to do, to show the changes I make to my image. For example, if I change Exposure to +5, I want to show [Exposure +5] on the image as an overlay.

I have seen this happen to many YouTube tutorials, just can't figure out what I need to do show it in mine!

PS: I picked up a little Behringer X-Touch Mini, and this overlay will be super helpful while leaning what I programmed the knobs to do!

The overlay text appears when you change a setting using the keyboard shortcuts instead of dragging the mouse.

For example, if you press the - or =/+ keys, (minus or plus) in the Develop module, the currently active setting will change and you will see the overlay as feedback that you changed something.

To use the keyboard to change which setting is active, press the , or .  ( < or > ) keys.

I haven't used a MIDI interface with Lightroom, but if you set it up to map to keyboard shortcuts, the overlay should appear.

But if the interface interacts directly with Lightroom without mapping to keyboard shortcuts, the overlay probably won't appear. In that case I don't know if there is a way to force the overlay to appear.

Ahh, I see that now. Changing a parameter using + - does show that overlay!

I'm surprised why the Midi device isn't showing it. I have seen YouTube videos of same device where changing settings showed that overlay!

Hopefully someone else has done this and can advise.

Are you using the same software to drive the midi control? There's a few options out there. I'd also check if this is one of the options in the plugin.
