Side-by-Side Lightroom to web same photo. Lightroom is washed out.

Hi everyone,

I am following along on a lightroom masterclass and when we got to editing a sample photo I noticed something really strange. The photo in the video on my browser is much more vibrant than the photo in my lightroom on the same monitor.

The photo attached demonstrates this. Both are the same unedited photo he provided.

I've always felt like my lightroom is washed out somehow and seems hazy or lacking color range. It's been a frustration point of mine because my images always seem to lack a level of vibrance and depth.

Is there a setting I'm missing? It seems to be the way lightroom is interpreting the image. I can't follow along because even the histogram is different. Yellow is completely gone from my lightroom's histogram.

The video you're watching was probably made with Lightroom 6 (which had different colors in the histogram), so it's around 10 years old. You're comparing your version of LrC to a video of a 10 year old version.

Videos don't have proper color management, so the colors you're seeing will not be correct.

In the 10 years that have passed since Lr 6 was released, Lightroom Classic (as it is now called) has come a long way.
