Slow performance with Lightroom Classic CC when using spot removal tool

Hey Everyone,

I just bought a new MacBook Pro, late 2017 15" with Touch Bar. When using Lightroom classic CC it is very slow when using the spot removal tool. The cursor really lags as I move the cursor across the image to edit a new spot. I am already using smart previews and have cleared my cache. Any other ways to speed up the performance? I did not expect to have this issue with CC and new MacBook Pro.

Thanks!!

MD

Yes, that's what happens with doing spot removal on a 4K or 5K screen and anything other than the top of the line CPU. Lightroom has this known deficiency.

You can try turning off the GPU acceleration (Preferences->Performance tab->uncheck "Use Graphics processor") but that will probably cause other things to slow down. Best choice is to do the spot healing in Photoshop.

Thanks very much for the rely Dj Paige. Good to know. I will likely just do it in PS instead going forward. An unfortunate flaw in Lightroom I suppose, but at least there is a workaround.
