Hi all,

I have LIghtroom Classic and for a number of months it seemed to be verry slow to respond.  It's excruciatingly slow for everything.  I noticed I was high on my computer RAM but I fixed that and it is still an issue so it's definetely LRc.  I've seen a few other topics close to this but no solutions specifically.  What happened?  I am using 14.01

For trying to help we need more informations.

What do you mean with " excruciatingly slow"?

What do you do in LR during you see the slowness?

Is your system up-to-date? Do you have installed all recent updates and patches for the operating system and the device drivers, especially the graphic driver. If you have a NVidia graphic card installed, make sure that you are using the recent Studio version of the driver, not the Game Ready version.

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the LrC Help > System Info menu item. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

Well, I read some more forums and found that the solution to the problem was in the Windows Defender scanning all the photo files.  So, I excluded my photo files from within the Windows Security Settings.  For anyone with similar issues:  Setting > Update & Security > Virus & threat protections >Manage Settings >Exclusions > Add exclusions that you want.  So far, that solved my issue.  Not sure if this changed in a Windows update or a Lightroom update, but it worked for me.  I don't have 1-2 minutes for each picture to load or for any changes to affect.
