Some Edits Missing in Migration from Lightroom 6.14

Hello, I’ve migrated to Lightroom Classic on a new Mac from Lightroom 6.14 on a vintage iMac.  I synchronised and optimised my catalog before importing to Lr Classic. However, some of my original edits are missing.

I repeated the process to create a new catalog, but this hasn’t fixed the problem.  I would welcome advice on how to retrieve the missing edits.

I cant upload another screenshot as it exceeds the permitted capacity but the history simply says: Import (08/05/2025 11:59.00)

Hope this helps.

Yes the photo was just imported a few days ago. It is a brand new photo according to Lr 6 and LrC, with no edits. Which could certainly be because you synchronized folders before the transfer to the other computer (and it could be because of other causes as well). The B&W photo in Lr 6 was imported in 2021.

It may be that there is a 2nd copy of this photo in your LrC catalog in a different folder, with your edits. Please click on all Photographs, turn off any filters, and search by file name for this potential 2nd copy.

Hi again.  I'm sorry I missed your last post and in desperation contacted Adobe Customer Care who connected remotely and seemingly restored edits.  However, afterwards I discovered more isssue and had to call Customer Care again.  This occurred several times and as a result, the file structure on my new Mac was a complete mess (not a good starting point for a new computer).   In the end, I deleted everything and copied the Pictures folder from my iMac to the new Mac, but did not  'Export as Catalog'.  Everything seems fine now, but I could not say why it failed the first time or succeeded the second. I've backedup the latest version and will keep my fingers crossed!

Many thanks for all your help.

I followed the following steps suggested by the  Adobe visual assistant:

I prepared the old catalog, by synchronising all folders and then optimising the 6.14 catalog.

I Exported as Catalog, checking the option to include the negatives.  I then copied and transferred the exported catalog file and my original photos to a portable hard drive.

I imported the catalog and photos to the new Mac - with Lightroom Classic installed, selecting File> import from another catalog.

All the (20K) photos and edits for approximately 65% were successfully imported, but edits for the more recent 35% appear to be missing.

Confirm 100% edits are present on Lightroom 6.14

Many thanks.

For one of these photos where the edits seems to be missing in Lightroom Classic, show us the History Panel in the Develop Module. Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply. Do NOT attach files.

Also, I am not familiar with the "Adobe visual assistant", how do you access it? It seems to me that the suggestion to synchronize all folders could be problematic and an incorrect step, and could possibly be the cause of photos showing up with no edits.

Sorry for the delay, I had some technical issues. I attach screenshot of Lr6.14 showing edits and LrC of the same photo without the edits.

I synchronised the folders as a matter of course before migrating to the new Mac.  (I routinely sync my folders to make sure they are up to date and have never experienced any issues as a resuslt)

The Adobe virtual assistant was on the Adobe website after I typed a question under Help and Support.   Ironically I can't find it now,  but it may need another question to prompt it.

Thankyou for your help.

Please explain step-by-step what you did to "migrate" the catalog from Lr 6.14 to LrC.

Also, please check the Lr 6.14 catalog to be 100% sure the edits are in there.
