Sonama installed, now all photos 'missing' and 'metadata has changed in lightroom'

Hi there, just installed Sonama and now all photos are missing in lightoom. When I click to locate them, there is a pop up message that the metadata has changed in lightoom.....unsure how to proceed. Any help appreciated (all photos are always imported and stored on external harddrive for a little background)
