Sony Lens Profiles Not Recognized

Hey everyone,

I'm wondering if any Sony users have seen the lens correct issue in LR Classic that I've been experiencing while using my 16-35mm lens.

I'm only able to use lens correct through one sony suggestion from lightroom: the "18-200mm". Occasionally it shows me a list of options, including the lens I have; but most of the time, it only lists 200mm.

Thanks!

With Sony lenses (and a raw file!) you'll see this - which means that a Sony profile is embedded in the file. That's from Sony, not Adobe:

This profile corrects chromatic aberration, but not geometry and vignetting. For that you apply the Adobe profile. With all my Sony lenses, the profile always applies automatically with the "Auto" setting.

A different matter is that I feel the Adobe profiles tend to overshoot a bit. I usually prefer to dial down vignetting and sometimes also geometry correction.

You're most likely editing a non-raw (e.g. a JPEG) rather than raw. Most lens profiles are for raws only, and there are only two profiles for Sony lenses that work with JPEGs:

You can quickly see what type of file you're editing in Develop by typing "i" one or more times and looking at the info display in the upper-left corner.
