Sony RX100 MkIII / Mk3 RAW camera correction not support in Lightroom 5.7 ?

Hello,

Currently out of work due to a pending hip operation but have been gifted an RX100 Mk3 .

I'm an amateur photographer aspiring to take better shots and often take my holiday photos in RAW on my old NEX5N. The list of supported cameras  here: Cameras supported by Camera Raw https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

Suggests that my model should supported. But yet when I select/enable 'camera Calibration' no appropriate Sony model appears to apply , similar for the lens.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, or I've misunderstood the supported models. Still learning how to use what is a fantastic program.

Lack of work prohibits major upgrades today and if this version does it I'd obviously appreciate help on doing so.

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello  Just Shoot Me,

Some general points for all members.

i) Yes I can import RAW images from the Mk3 and obtain thumbnails and develop them.

ii) Text from the Help screen below:

Application folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1

Library Path: E:\My Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom 5 Catalog.lrcat

Settings Folder: C:\Users\AlansAMD\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom

Installed Plugins:

1) Behance

2) Canon Tether Plugin

3) DxO Optics Pro 9

4) DxO Optics Pro 9 Importer

5) Facebook

6) Flickr

7) Leica Tether Plugin

8) Nikon Tether Plugin

Is this the text you wished to see , as there is more?

Sounds like there isn't a specific set of corrections for the camera ? i.e. in terms of the Lens profile corrections. I though this was key for managing RAW files. JPEG's I understand make use of 'In camera' corrections. My understanding is that this is critical if one wishes to process/use RAW images. A bit confused really? Sorry.

General point , thanks to all the members that have attempted to help on this matter. Thanks very much.

Alan

You may already know this, but lens profiles are file format specific and are almost exclusively created for raw files only. I'll post a little screenshot of the path to where the lens profiles are located on my Windows 10 computer. You might want to look and see if any of your lenses are in the list.

You indicated that when you enable camera calibration that no appropriate model seems to be listed (or something like that). If Lightroom is importing and displaying your raw images, then your camera IS being supported. The camera calibration section ISN'T going to list your camera model. It is only going to list the profile(s) that are provided for your specific camera model. For many camera models from many manufacturers the only profile provided is an Adobe Standard. And that profile is for raw images only. If you are editing JPEG images the only profile that will be listed is "Embedded" because there are no profiles for JPEG images for any camera from any manufacturer.

Are you sure that camera isn't a RX100 MK IV.

Or you really don't have LR 5.7 installed. Or even LR 5.5 because that camera was/is supported from LR 5.5 onward.

Also there is an update to LR 5. 5.7.1 and cn be downloaded from here.

Hello,

Thanks for such a fast comment.

I can assure you it's a Mk3 as I specified the model based on a cousin's experience and budget

Unfortunately he neither bothers with Lightroom or RAW on this model as he has an A7RII for serious work.

I've got 5.7 only as far as I'm concerned.

I'll download the new link and installed. I've just done this and I seem to be no further forward. Am I wrong to see an explicit model listed when I select 'Camera Correction' ?

Dialogue appears as attached Image. Might I have historically added a preset or similar that's messed up this process.

Is there a way to do a full fresh / clear install or is this correct operation?

Forgive my fairly basic questions.

There are plenty of discussions here in these forums about Sony cameras not having the expected profiles. You might want to do a search for those discussions.
