Spacebar Hand Tool Not Working - Lightroom Classic CC 7.4

Hi guys, I've had this issue for a while but it's just now become a bigger hassle...

When I'm zoomed in on an image, I press the spacebar and the hand-tool icon pops up, however, when I drag to move the image, it does not move at all. I usually incorporate this into my workflow while doing spot removal or using the brush tool.

I've tried searching and playing around with it, but I can't seem to find what the issue might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm running Lightroom Classic V7.4 (version 10.0.17134) on Windows 10 Home Premium.

Thank you!

Correct answer Just Shoot Me

I can confirm on a notebook using the track pad you have to press the space bar then hit the Alt key and then left click and hold. You can then drag the image around. To get out of the hand tool and back to the spot removal tool let go of then press the space bar again.

Or get a mouse. With a mouse connected no need to do the above.

Are you using a mouse or the track/touch pad?

Working just fine with a mouse on Windows 7 LR 7.4

I suspect you are using a track pad and you have to Click and hold the left mouse/pad button to drag the image around. No click of the left button all that happens is the hand icon moves around.

Hi Sergiofg,

We're sorry to hear about this. As the hand tool is not working, could you please let us know if you're working with a tablet?

Also, when was the last time it worked as expected?

Could you please try resetting the preferences of Lightroom and let us know if it helps with the issue?

Hi Sahil, thanks for the reply. I'm not using a tablet, working on my laptop. I tried resetting the Lightroom preferences but that didn't fix it.

I'm not exactly sure when the last time it worked was, unfortunately. It could've maybe been the beginning of the year or longer.

Does this happen on all images?

Is the image a small size (Pixels)?  If the image is smaller than the window when viewed 1:1, then the zoom and scroll will do nothing.
