Stacking question

Windows 10

Create Virtual Copy creates a stack, which is expanded. This is fine.

When I filter (flagged photos only, text, etc.) Lightroom collapses the stacks.

Expand All Stacks has no effect. I cannot access the Virtual Copy for editing.

Unstack deletes the Virtual Copy

Only solution so far is to restart Lightroom.

LR's rules for the interactions between virtual copies, stacks, filters, and the current folder or collection are messy and complicated. The most efficient way to make progress on your issue is to provide full-resolution screenshots of the entire LR window:

- Right before you create the virtual copy.

- Right after applying the filter.

- Right after restarting LR.

It would have been a lot clearer if you had shown screenshots of the library grid rather than this, but I think your custom filter does indeed filter out virtual copies, just like I suggested.

Double check your filter settings. This sounds like you do not only filter on flags or text, but also on real copies. So as soon as you activate the filter, all virtual copies disappear because they do not match the filter criteria.

When I turn filters off, the Virtual Copies are still inaccessible.
