Stand-alone LR6 Reinstall Issue

I've had an stand-alone version of Lightroom 6 installed on my old pc for several years. I just upgraded to a new Windows 11 pc and I want to transfer the program  to it. I have the original setup files and I have my product key, but when I initiate the installation process, it is interrupted by a dialog box that tells me "To use Adobe services, please update your Adobe applications, operating system, and browser to the latest versions." I don't understand the "update your Adobe applications" part, but the OS is the latest Windows 11 version and the browser is the latest version of Edge. How do I proceed? Thanks very much.

According to several recent posts, like this one, Lr 6 can't be activated on a new computer any more.

 

Nevertheless, you might want to follow the suggestions from @johnrellis at that thread.

I just updated that other thread -- I'm no longer able to install a new LR 6.14 into a virgin Windows 11 either (though I could earlier in 2024). Though my existing Windows LR 6.14 continues to work, I think new installations are really most sincerely dead.
