Storage low on computer

You should always know how much space you have on your system drive. Just open Windows Explorer to This Computer:

The golden rule is to never let any drive fill up above 70% or so - especially not the system drive. Not only applications, but Windows itself needs free space for temporary working data and general housekeeping.

Your image files is just part of the story. All your applications will put various stuff in your user account, and this tends to accumulate over time.

When you start getting these messages, you are probably criticallly low on space. That's an emergency situation you need to deal with ASAP. Run disk cleanup from your operating sytem. Remove everything not directly system-related. Clear all caches, including Lr previews, ACR cache, Bridge caches if you use that.

A standard configuration of operating system and a "normal" range of applications should not take up much more than 100GB or so.
