strange error message

Anyone here see this message before? I restarted my computer and opened Lightroom, and there are literally no other programs running right now. I'm on an iMac (2017) and this is the catalog that I was using before I restarted the computer. If I hit "choose a different catalog," I'm able to open any other catalog I want, but unfortunately the one I need won't open (because of this message). What other application could possibly be using my LR catalog? Help please! TIA

I get this error when my cloud backup is uploading up my catalog. I have sinced excluded the folder the active catalog lives in and only upload the catalog backups to cloud storage.

Is there perhaps some sort of backup in the background uploading your catalog? I think macs use time machine?
