Subcollection doesn't move from its position

Not much using Lightroom Classic, as I find Photoshop better for me. So, now I have some 700 pictures which I would like to arrange in subcollections under the main collection in LRC; Bridge isn't very good for that. At the beginning, when I created the the original main collection to be able to move pictures freely in and between collections, I was able to create subcollections and to change their position in the collection, so I remember... However, now that doesn't appear possible any more: When I try to change the position of a subcollection among other subcollection there appears some vague gray color with the subcollection, I guess, intending its movement. However, I'm not able to reposition the subcollection! It just jumps back to its original position! This is just that what I rmember from Lightroom From The Past. Strange behaviour, almost like Microsoft's Powerpoint some 20 yrs ago. Great! Anyway, all comments wellcome - as I liked to get forward! MBP M2, latest versions of everything.

More to follow - about how akward LRC is: To find out which photos were nor classified in any subfolder - of course there is no direct command for this, some boolean operations missing - I chose all the subfolders and and selected them to have a color label. In this way I found that some 12 pictures out of some 700 pictures were not in any subfolder. Great. After classifying them, I wanted to get rid of the color lable. That was so .. so.. so UnIntuitive! ... Finally, I found that when I choose all the pictures and then click a minor item in a photo, all the color labels should be vanish, and then, the miracle happened! What a great app is LCR! - After being a bit critical, I need to say that I've found PS is the best app for my work with photos, since its 3rd release 💥.

My own reply: I was just imaging, I was in my dreams: All my subcollections are in an alphabetical order - arranged by me. 🤓 In conclusion: LrC is like MS's Powerpoint, not 20 but 30 yrs ago 😳.
