Question

Subject and Sky masking isn't working, resulting in error message

Lightroom won't allow me to select a subject or the sky, it gives me an error message. It was working before I downloaded the newest update. I have tried everything to fix it, I followed the troubleshooting and steps that were recommended in other discussions. I even tried uninstalling and installing older versions. Help?

Adobe does not support LrC on shares. They infact state it will cause problems.

Not on a server, not on a NAS, not in the cloud. Images can be on that cloud, not catalogs.

Oh some state it works fine for them, some recommend it as a solution to storage, but eventually the catalog breaks.

Now, does relocating the catalog to an actual hard drive help with your problem? That will involve a bit of work.

by the way, what is the error message? Anything about locating or creating a folder? Remember the AI masking creates a folder/file (.lrcat-data) right next to the catalog, etc.

The selecting tool works on lightroom, the cloud version, so does that mean I need a hard drive for lightroom classic?
