Hi,

I collect my photos around 3 catalogs: professional work, private (familly and travel) and street photo.
Some street photos are taken while traveling.  I would like to have the pictures reamining in the 2 catalogs but I would like to know how I can syncing modification to a pictures to the 2nd catalogs ?

When in street catalog, modification to a picture taken in Cuba would be automatically applied to the same photo in the private catalog.

Is there a workaround ?

Do I need to write in .xmp the modifications so that each catalog reads the last xmp file ?

Thanks a lot for your input

This is a drawback of having multiple catalogs. Edits made to a photo in one catalog are unknown by the other catalog. A manual solution is to have edits made in one catalog written to xmp and then you manually go to the second catalog and tell LrC to read the xmp file for that photo. IMHO, not a very good solution because it is manual, and if you forget, then you have different edits on this photo.

A better solution IHMO is to use one catalog for private and street; unless you feel you absolutely must keep these photos in separate catalogs, but in that case separate catalogs have the drawback mentioned above.

Also consider, in any catalog, but yes in a one catalog strategy, using connections to separate types of photos. Also use keywords.
