Question

Sync issue

I have been having a problem with syncing for about a month now. I will sort it, it works for a bit then it just gets stuck. I then delete all synced photos and restart. Then the cycle repeats itself. I have done this about 4-5 times this month alone.
I use Lightroom classic on a MacBook Pro, do my editing on an iPad and store my photos on external drives.

It’s wierd, I open classic and it seems like everything is stuck until I close and reopen Lightroom or when I pause/unpause the sync button. ( the boxes at the side of my collections that tell me what’s synced don’t appear until I do this)

Sometime also when I press rebuild sync it just doesn’t do anything. It’s like there’s something fundamentally wrong it all and I have no idea other than it’s a bug.

please please can someone help me !!

Syncing has been broken in Classic for years now and Adobe doesn't seem to be able to reproduce the problems or it is not a high enough priority. Not sure it will ever get fixed as they do fix things but then introduce new things in the cloud ecosystem that break it again. Like you I rebuilt the database many times, quit and restart Classic to restart the sync, deleted the entire cloud library a few times but it always will get stuck, typically on syncing metadata for a few random images, at some point after working for a bit. It typically gets stuck on images that I have shot and edited on my phone or iPad weeks ago. It's very frustrating how fickle it is.

Agree with @Skorp1on - Adding in. Yes, please someone from Adobe support, please chime in. I made edits last night in LR Classic on my iMac and this morning, I'm on my iPad away from my house. And none of the edits are showing up. I admit that my file is chunky, over 100 MB and is a tiff file. But I have waited sufficiently for a proper sync, but the program says it's finished syncing. So that doesn't appear to be the issue.  This has happened a few times over the last few months or so. And it's intermittent.  I'm sure you're all working on the issue, but it's tough keep using an app/system when you can't trust it. And as much as I wanna stick with it, I don't know if I can continue to use it unless there's consistency.
