Syncing a catalog on laptop through online sync

I know you can sync your desktop to your lr mobile app on your phone but can you sync to laptop? Anyone know how to do this? Seems like it should be pretty simple.

LR is a single-user, single-computer software package.

The easiest way (not prettiest way) to work between multiple computers is to put the images and catalog on an external drive and move the drive from computer to computer as needed.

Some folks do get catalog sharing to work using file sharing services, but there are lots of precautions that need to be taken.

Syncing your images is a bandwidth problem as is syncing your catalog caches.

    I would use a portable external drive with the event on it and open the catalog separately but I was hoping to edit the same wedding on my laptop without having to make a full copy from my raid backup. I thought since LR cc is cloud based that i could somehow open cc on my laptop and access the same catalog and files from my original raid.

    If your images are on a local network that is accessible from both computers, then all is good. You just need to make sure both computers are referencing the network drive by the same name or drive letter.

    Then you just need the catalog and its cache data on the external drive.

    That is so by design, you can sync your Computer which has the Lightroom CC 2015 software application to your mobile devices which have the Lightroom Mobile app. You cannot sync computer to computer.

    You can only sync collections from one LR Catalog at a time.
