Question

Syncronising ARW with DNG files and Smart Previews

Hi guys,

I'm currently having some issues syncing an album's already imported and converted photos to DNG to match the original ARW Files (from A7 IV) with already converted DNG files. As the photos are stored in a NAS previously and the NAS was recently upgraded and moved whilst doing so, I only have smart previews of the photos. Even after the usual 'Update Folder Location', The photos seems to all be missing and ready to be re-imported as they do not match the file extensions. Is there anyway I could resync the photos as alot of time has already been spent on the edits but it has been only in a low res smart preview? Have tried the Syncomatic LR Plugin but it doesn't seem to support ARW files.

Do appreciate any help in this!
Thank you!

You cannot 'reconnect' DNG files to proprietary raw files, because for Lightroom these are two different files. That is why the link given by @DdeGannes will not work either.

I think the only option would be to use the Adobe DNG Converter and convert your ARW files to DNG once again. Then you can reconnect them if Lightroom hasn't already recognised them again.
