Question

Tagging raw file as pick deletes it from the catalogue

Potentially dangerous bug. If I tag a Sony raw file (ARW) with P (for pick), or click on the flag in the upper left to identify it as a pick, the file is removed from the files displayed in the catalogue instead of appearing with the white flag to designate its status. It apparently isn't deleted from my SSD, but I'm not confident that this is always the case. This just started happening today in the 12.4 release with camera raw 15.4 On Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1. I am on a MacBookPro 16" purchased about a month ago.

To troubleshoot, I deleted and reinstalled LRClassic from CreativeCloud. Same problem after reinstall. This needs to be fixed.

I can't verify it on my Mac right now as I am typing this on my iPad, but I am pretty sure that if this was really a bug as you describe it, there would be hundreds of reports by now. Check your filter settings, because I am sure that @prbimages is correct: you have an active filter that filters out the picked images.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. It is fixed now after I also updated CreativeCloud and restarted for a second time.  I will be sure to check the filters though. I've never seen this happen before, and as with other features of LRClassic an errant tap somewhere in the window can bring about unintended consequences.

Are you sure you haven't inadvertently set a filter which is filtering out the "Picked" photos? Check the filter bar at the top of the screen (use the "\" key to toggle it if it's not visible).

Similar to @prbimages , if you are looking in a Smart Collection, changing the pick flag could cause the image to appear to "disappear".

@SASanderson: Please go to "All Photographs", I'm sure your image is still in there, you may have to turn off all filters first to find it.

I'm not seeing that on Window 11, LrC 12.4.

Try resetting your preferences. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not delete preferences.
