Tethered shooting with can 6D MKll

Hey So I hook up may camera to my laptop and turn it on to shoot through Lightroom but my photo library automatically opens up. Even when I close it and attempt to shoot with Lightroom, nothing happens. I close Lightroom and try Image Capture, but nothing happens there either. In fact, the option to take a picture is dim. I can't click on it! I'm a product photographer, and NEED this to work!
