Tethering makes Lightroom really slow showing photos

Yesterday I was shooting on location with the customer and the agency. Nikon D750 tethered to Lightroom CC.

I had no problem shooting but when we tried to review photos (simply go to next/previous), after browsing 3-4 photos Lightroom became really slow (spinning cycle on Mac for about 15 seconds and everything frozen!!! Cannot work in those conditions. We had to wait 15 seconds to see a photo!!). When I disconnected the camera, everything was fast again (browsing without any problem at all).

I tried both develop and "browse" modules, tried to reboot, tried to reconnect the camera, nothing changed. I'm using a Macbook Pro Mid 2015 with top hardware (i7, SSD, dedicated GPU ecc...).

I think it's a software bug. Can anyone confirm this?

Hi AlbertoBedin,

We're really sorry for the slow performance issue while tethering from Lightroom CC. Could you please let us know the exact version of Lightroom you are using now?

Also, turn off the Graphics Processor from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck the GPU > Restart Lightroom.

Regards,

Mohit
