Tethering with Nikon d850 stopped working on laptop

Hi everyone on the forum,

The tethering of my Nikon d850 stopped working on my Dell laptop. The laptop finds the camera, but not tethering in Lightroom. It works fine to tether when I connect the camera to my office desktop PC. I have tried everything in the two Adobe articles https://adobe.ly/3O1RYVQ and https://adobe.ly/2JSym5e. I have all the latest updates and drivers.

Please help; this has a HUGE negative impact on my professional work.

All the best!

Hey, @Jonas7922. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you with this.

Restarting the Camera while plugging it into the computer is an essential step. If this does not help, try updating the USB drivers for the Camera in the Windows Device Manager.

Try booting the device in Windows Safe mode with the internet & check how it goes.

Thanks!

Sameer K.

Hello @Sameer K

Thank you for reaching out!

I tried what you suggested, unfortunatly, it didn't work. I have also updated the camera firmware och madesure I have the latest LR Classic. It works on my desktop PC in the office. We have tried it with three different laptops, one was brand new straight out of the boxit. It dosent work on any of the PC laptops. This started with the latest LR Classic update.

Please help; this has a HUGE negative impact on our professional work since we are a mediahouse with a lot of studio work for clients.

All the best!

Jonas
