When i start LRC or LR there is just coming up a message box

"The code execution cannot continue because mfc140u.dll cannot be found. Try reinstalling the application.”

Have tried reinstalling without success,

This message applies only to LRC and LR.

PS works.

What to do?

If you follow the steps in @Sameer K ‘s answer (marked in green) you don’t loose anything.

You have only to reinstall Microsoft’s Visual C++ Redistributables. Lightroom remains untouched. To be absolutely sure, you should make a backup of the catalog.

BTW: You should perform regular data backups anyway.

Thank you so much! I do back up weekly, but the work i had done for a few days I would have cried if it had not worked and I would have needed to uninstall and reinstall.  But thanks to your fantastic advice it is back to working perfectly.  Thanks again!

    The answer is here:

PS: No need to put your entire question in the title dialog box when you create your post. Just a few words in the title would be fine (like “LrC doesn’t start, mfc140u.dll error) and then describe your problem in detail in the next window
