Question

The "Edit In" feature of Lightroom Classic does not work

Opened LRc (15.1) this morning, pulled up an image to work on, clicked on "edit in" and all of the choices are greyed out and do not respond.  Does not happen with all images, but I cannot tell what differences between images there are that might be the problem.  All files including both those that can be "edit in" other programs  (e.g., Photoshop, Topaz Ai, etc.) and those that cannot are Tiff files produced by scanning in either photos or film.  I have been working on the same 5K images  for several years and never encountered the problem before. I am running a Studio  Mac 3 with the latest OS.

Does anyone know how to fix this, or how to contact a live person at Adobe about this problem?

You might find an answer is these suggestions-

Grey 'Edit-In' menu may be caused by-

1) The photo is 'missing'. Lightroom does not know where the original photo is stored- it has been deleted, renamed, moved, by the OS outside of Lr.  Grid view thumbnail is showing a [!] on the border? (or possibly a corrupt file)

MISSING FILES AND FOLDERS-(Computer Darkroom)

2) You are using Smart Previews and the original file is not connected to the computer or available to Lightroom. (eg. external usb drive not connected). Plug in the external drive- check that it is using the same Name/Letter as before. (Also see the link for Missing photos)

3) Lightroom and Photoshop are not linked correctly in Registry/plist.  See this link-

EDIT IN Photoshop command missing

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.4.1, Photoshop 27.8, ACR 18.4, Lightroom 9.4, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .
