Hello, fam.

I cannot delete images after creating a new master catalog from multiple other catalogs, which I have since deleted. The new master catalog itself is located on my iMac 24-inch M1 SSD, but the images are located on an external 6TB G-Drive Thunderbolt drive.

Anytime I attempt to CMD-Delete images I've rejected, I get this error:

I'm running the latest version of Monterrey 12.3.1 and Lightroom Classic is up to date at 11.3.1.

Lightroom has Full Disk Access in System Preferences:

I've rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom Classic, reset preferences, created a new catalog and reimported the images.

Is this some other kind of permissions thing with the drive? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble with Lightroom Classic. We are here to help.

Does the error appear if an image is deleted from the internal drive?

  • Search for Disk Utility from Finder's spotlight search or magnifying glass.
  • Run 'First Aid' diagnostic on the external drive. Check this to learn more: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210898
  • Restart the computer.

You can check this video too if you wish to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1itgHFCnFww

We hope this helps,

Thanks!

Hello, Sameer.

Thanks for your quick response.

• This issue does not occur when deleting an image from the internal drive.

• I ran First Aid on the drive and it did not appear that there were any issues:

I haven't had any other issues with the external drive and double-checked the permissions on it. They are all Read & Write:

Computer has been restarted. Any other ideas?

Thanks again.

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), can you delete the images?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), can you delete the images?
You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: can you delete the images?
