Question

Transfer/Download photos after losing account access?

My Adobe corporate account is no longer active as of 6/5/2026 and I forgot to transfer/download my LR photos to my personal account. I can't access the adobe account. Any other ways to access my former LR library? The articles I'm finding show how to initiate a download but you’d need to access the original account.

thanks!

    Hi @Austinterry,

Sorry to hear about this situation. Since your photos were stored under a corporate/Enterprise Adobe account managed by your former employer, here's what you can do:

    • Contact your former employer's IT department (most important). Your former company's IT admin controls your corporate Adobe account; they're the only ones who can temporarily re-enable your account so you can sign in and export your photos. Transfer your Lightroom cloud library to a personal Adobe ID. Reach out to your former manager, HR, or IT help desk and explain that you need to recover personal photos. Many companies will accommodate this reasonable request, especially since it's only been 10 days. Act quickly; most organizations delete deactivated account data within days.

    • If you had Lightroom installed on any device you still have access to, Lightroom Classic stores photos locally; your catalog (.lrcat file) and original images should still be on your hard drive or external drive, independent of the cloud account.

The bottom line is that the fastest and most reliable path is to reach out to your former company's IT team. Since it's only been 10 days, there's a good chance the data is still there and recoverable.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

    Best,
