Transferring Lightroom 5.7.1 from laptop to Mac

I have been using a Toshiba laptop on which I have LR 5.7.1. I want to change to a MacPro or MacAir. Will I be able to have the Mac store transfer all my files including Lightroom over to the Mac? What is the process?

You can certainly download the Mac version of 5.7.1

    Download Photoshop Lightroom

But as mentioned, it probably won't run properly on OS X 13 or higher.

If you are moderately serious about your photography you might consider subscribing to the CC Photography Plan

I don't believe you'll be able to obtain a copy form Apple since your copy was for the Windows platform not macOS. Also, note that while Lightroom was available from the Mac App Store for a short while some years back this method of purchase is no longer available.

You can install Lightroom, and copy photo files to a Mac system, but-

There are reports that v5 does not work with recent versions of the Mac operating system.

You really need to subscribe to a Photography Plan to use current versions of Lightroom-Classic v8.2.1 or Lightroom-CC (Cloud).

    For "Desktop" Lightroom-  https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/
