Treatment Profile within presets

Hi All,

I have a 'pre-proccess' preset which amonsgst other settings, sets the RAW file colour treatment to 'Camera Matching Standard' as I shoot Canon 'Standard'. I then send the image to PS for various edits.

I then want to create another preset to make some other adjustments to that file once it is back in LR.

What colour treatment profile do I set the preset to?

you cannot apply a camera matching calibration profile, nor would you want to. The only kind of profile that could make sense, is one that in practice applies an "effect". Look at the choices available when you are editing a post-PS file - a PSD or a TIFF - as distinct from when editing a Raw file.

But IMO, best to treat the image returning from PS essentially neutrally, and that means leaving it with its "embedded" profile as-is. So, for this preset, un-check "treatment and profile" and consider carefully what you want to do so far as WB since that happens differently for a Raw and for a converted bitmap based file. For most other adjustments, this preset should be possible to apply onto any kind of image...

...remembering that e.g. if a preset causes a certain amount of sharpening to happen - when applied to a Raw it will implement that as the total amount of sharpening seen. But when applied to a PS edited file, you will get whatever initial sharpening was previously selected for this Raw before a copy went to PS PLUS this new amount of sharpening cumulatively applied on top. Works the same for most other enhancements.
