Question

trouble finding still image captured from video in LR

I've watched several tutorials now about how to capture a frame from a video in LR.  When I do this, it shows my images stacked.  When I go to unstack those images so I can edit the frame capture in the develop mode, it just goes away.  I've tried shift + command +g, I've tried to unstack from the menu bar.  Nothing seems to work to give me that screen captured image next to the video image?  It does put a jpg file in my original folder on my external drive, but I can't figure out how to see it in LR?  Make sense?

Maybe a silly question, but, have you tried clicking the mouse cursor on the thumbnail badge that indicates a stack?

Or click on the tiny 'Double-Bar' icon on the left of the thumbnail.

(You may need to press 'J' to toggle the badges visible)

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .

LR is very wierd in its handling of captured frames.  To find the frame, select the video, click All Photographs in the Catalog panel on the left, and turn off any filters by making sure the menu item File > Library Filters > Enable Filters is unchecked.  Then sort Library grid view by doing View > Sort > Capture Time.  The frame should appear next to the selected video.

See the help for all the wierdnesses about captured frames:

How to work with video in Lightroom Classic CC

    • Note: Lightroom Classic CC stacks the capture frame with the video clip. The stack is only visible when viewing All Photographs or the folder containing the clip. If you captured the frame while in a collection, the frame will be added to the collection but the stack will only be visible when in All Photographs or the containing folder. Neither the frame nor the stack will be visible when viewing smart collections, published collections, Quick Collection, Previous Import, or other built-in collections.
