Trouble importing photos from iPhone 14 Max to LR Classic.

When I try to import photos from my iPhone 14 Max to Lightroom Classic, it is always SUPER SLOW and ow it won’t download all of the,. Currently, I’m trying to import all 1633 photos but am only able to get 776 and then it just stops. I have tried again and again. Not sure what to do.

Try these workarounds:

- On Mac, use the Image Capture app to transfer the photos from the phone to your hard drive, then import into LR from there.

- On Windows, use the Apple Devices app to transfer the photos from the phone to your hard drive, then import into LR from there.

I just dont understand why I’d need a workaround. Shouldn’t LR be able to download photos from an iPhone?

Do you have ‘Optimize Storage’ enabled on the phone? If so, photos are offloaded to iCloud and replaced on the phone by a link to the online photo. Lightroom cannot deal with that.

Nope. I thought that might be it also, but I checked and it’s off. And it’s always been super slow to download from my iphone. It would be uncommon for 600 images to take an hour.
