Trouble Reading certain Files Types, NEF and ORF

I was able to read these file types in the past but now cannot. Nothing changed except loading recent level of Lightroom classic

What happens when you try? Describe in detail. Also provide the following basic information

An error message like "Cannot Read..." often means 'Cannot WRITE'.  Double check your set Destination folder for the Import. Check it has read/write permissions, and that you have enough space on the destination drive.

    Just to be clear: you could read files from the same cameras that you can't read now?

     

    Conversely, are they new files in an unsupported compressed format?

     

    File type alone is no indicator of whether Lr will open the file.

    Thanks for your quick response....
    The problems of missing or blank photos is with photos that have been loaded into Lightroom (almost always) years ago. The grid shows a blank position where a photo should be. The number of photos in the file shown in the grid is correct however some positions are blank and some photos are perfect.
    I have the lasted level of Lightroom Classic from the Adobe Creative Cloud running on Windows 10. This happens with NEF images from my D850 and ORF images from my Olympus. Maybe the problem is somewhere else but it is curious that for the cases I looked at the missing files always seem to be NEF and ORF.
