Trying to work in latest version of CC and latest version of IOS and mac shuts down

Everything is up to date and I can't get any work done.  Five minutes in and my computer turns off. Then I have to unplug and I have to wait five minutes, plug it back in and go through the whole process again.   What's going on?

    Sounds very much like something is overheating in your computer. Check the computer's fans and cooling system to make sure it is functioning properly.

    No the computer is not over heating.  Only when I use lightroom do I have this problem.

    These two sentences do not logically go together.

    Lightroom could be the only program to cause this overheating problem as it stresses the CPU more than other software. When the computer shuts down, it is either a bad graphics driver or there is a hardware malfunction; 99.999% of the time that is the explanation for the computer shutting down.

    Anyway, the only way to know your computer is not overheating is to observe the temperature of the CPU, and there are utilities that can monitor this for you.

    Hi williamm,

    Could you please let us know which version of Lightroom Classic CC are you using? When exactly does your computer turns off and do you get an error message? Also, explain your workflow to help us better understand the issue.

    I am using whatever the most recent version is.  My computer updates every time to the newest version.   It is happening now more frequent.  Literally 30 seconds after I start working.
