Question

Unable to load pictures from memory card to Lightroom classic Catalog 13-5-2

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Lightroom Classic V13-5-2 and since that time I am unable to import picures to the catalog. Initially maybe a dozen or so images are imported but the screen then freezes and the mesage on screen is "the programme is not responding "  I am invited to wait for the program to respond but it is consistently failing to do so.

I am able to export images from the catalog to my desktop but the import function is not working.

On invesigating further I am invited to delete the current version of Lightroom and install an earlier version of Lightroom Classic. I have attempted to do this several times but without sucess. Each time I am told to close the current version of Lighroom which I have done but this does not appear to be recognosed and I am unable to progress further.

I have run my Norton anti virus softwrare and no security risks have been detected

I am using a Leovo laptop Ideapad with Windows on board.

I would greatly appreciate help in resolving this issue as I need to import a number of images for processing.

Thank you for replying to my post. For some reason pressing the Windows key ant PRTSC does not capture the screen shots.

So I have included photos from my iphone of the two screens requested.

The first screen shows the messgae I receive from Lightroom Classic which says "Lighroom Classic is not responding"

and the second screen from the Creative Cloud shows the recent updates of Lightroom that are available.

I am unable to locate the screen where I was invited to delete the current version of Lightroom and Install an earlier version.

Hope this helps.

Should I be thinking of deleting Lighroom Classic from my hard drive and starting again from scratch? All my images are suppose to be backed up each time I close the programme so are safe I assume??

NO, the Lightroom Classic "backup function" does not backup your images. It is your responsibility to know where those images are and back them up. The image/photo files must be backed up to a separate drive than the one where they have been imported to.

First of all, try resetting the Lightroom Preferences.

If it becomes necessary to reinstall Lightroom Classic, you do that from the Adobe Creative Cloud app.

What size is your computer drive and how much unused space is available?

There is no Lightroom Classic 15.3.2, so I assume you are talking about a catalog with 15-3-2 in its name? That means you have upgraded your catalog twice in Lightroom Classic 13.5. Could that be what you are talking about when you say you 'are invited' to delete the current version of Lightroom Classic? It all sounds very odd and unclear, I'm afraid.

Please show us a screen capture of the problem. Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply. Do NOT attach files.

Please explain this further and provide a screen capture of this message: "On invesigating further I am invited to delete the current version of Lightroom and install an earlier version of Lightroom Classic." Who or what invited you to do this?
