Question

Unable to update catalog to latest lightroom version

Just like a lot of other folks, I am told there is a problem converting my catalog when trying to update lightroom to the latest version. In my case from a version from 2019 to the latest version. This represents many years of work for me, and if I am going to be locked into an old version of lightroom due to not being able to get my catalog converted  and would have to redo all the work I have done so far (thousands of edited pictures) to stay with a current version of lightroom going forward then lightroom would be a dead platform for me. I would be fine if there were pictures that did not convert, but I need the bulk of the pictures.  Please advise.

... converting my catalog when trying to update lightroom to the latest version.

What is the version NUMBER you have updated Lightroom Classic to? Please give us the version NUMBER, words like "latest" are not sufficient.

Hmm, Windows, a suspicion, what is the entire path and name of your catalog? Something like:

C:/Photos/Lightroom/rumplestiltskin/bumpitybump/catalog_10_2.lrcat

What is the exact error message? A screenshot might help.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.
