Understanding LR Classic and LR sync Help

I am running circles trying to undetstand exactly how the file management works between LR Classic and Lightroom.

Example scenario:

Create a new album in Lightroom, add a photo to test

Open LR Classic

I see the new album in my "From Lightroom CC" collections after sync updates

To test I click stop syncing in LR Classic

The album them disappears from LR

Question: why would the album dissappear when I created it in Lightroom in the fist place? Shouldn't those files stay whether I want to see/edit/sync them in LR Classic or not?

I read the help articles and can't get my brain around how the file management works.

The album disappears because Lightroom Classic is the king in this kind of setup. Everything in the cloud will be synced with Lightroom Classic, no exception. That means that an album that is unsynced in Lightroom Classic, will be removed from the cloud. The fact that you created the album in Lightroom cloud is irrelevant.
