Unexpected appearance after update

Last October while I was away for a month, there was an automatic update, when I returned an opened Lrc like I always had, it was like some other program, not anything I was familiar with. I got in touch with Adobe support ( which I'm not a fan of) and they got me back to what somewhat looked like what I had before. Now, when I'm using Lrc , it's terribly slow. As you can probably tell I'm a complete novice.

I don't know where to turn, is there someway I can start over, like re-install?

Thanks, Mike

If you wish to roll back to an older version, use the Creative Cloud application, click on the three dots (...) and select “Other Versions”.

First start by telling us the version NUMBER (that's number, not words like "latest" or "up-to-date") of your LrC. It sounds like you might be using Lightroom instead of Lightroom Classic.

Next show us a screen capture of what you see that isn't familiar (include the screen capture by clicking on the "Insert Photos" icon, do not attach files)

Next, please tell us what  actions are terribly slow.
