Unexpected color change

The latest Lightroom Classic update to v13 has messed up the colour of my photos (as well as my photography classmate, as we are studying photography together).  We both had our computers update to v13.  Then when opening the Develop module on the images we wanted to work on it had the "edit colors with more precision using Point Color" message and had automatically changed the colours in our photos to really contrasty and bright.  We closed that pop up message and yet there was no return to our original photo colours for us then to work on our image the way we wanted.  What is going on??  We are scared to open anymore photos in lightroom as they might change the colours automatically for us which is NOT what we want especially for our studies we are currently completing. HELP!
