Unspecified slowness complaint
OK. Now I see what happened, so I’ll start over. I’m hoping that someone has an idea for a fix for this.
Re: LRC 15.4.1
Running painfully slow. A little history: I’ve been a Lightroom user for over 10 years, along the way Lightroom would bog down once in a while, but it always seemed to function good enough, until it became unacceptable. I was due for a new system so in 2012 I purchased a new XPS8500. Things went well, but the day came where Lightroom slowed to a crawl again. Fast forward to 2018 when I purchase my present system.
Specs:
Dell XPS8950
Win 11 Pro
32GB DDR4 2266 Mhz
1TB SSD
2TB 7200 rpm HDD
NVIDEA GeForce GTX 1080 w 8GB GDDR5X Graphics Memory
BDRE Drive
With this system all problems all Lightroom problems vanished and I could multitask with several photo applications along with Lightroom with no problems. Editing became a pleasure once again.
Lately everything regarding Lightroom is once again becoming intolerable.
I’ve watched several videos on how to speed up LRC, but all to no avail. I dont think this is conneccted in anyway to my system config since LRC is the ONLY app that acts up, even when running other apps at the same time. Everything in LRC is affected, this is only one example.
Create mask - NOTHING happens for at least 30 sec
Create another mask - NOTHING happens for a least a minute, sometimes much more. While waiting for the additional mask to show up the image I am working on flickers and “vibrates” and still the mask is not ready.
I find the only way to get LRC to function somewhat acceptably is to reboot PC, Disconnect Internet access, Open LRC and nothing else and still pray that it works for a while.
I hope this is enough to get someone thinking about what my problem(s) might be.
6 to 9 months ago all seemed to be normal, but no more,
Thanks for any insight or suggestions
