Up-syncing gets stuck often

I don't know if this is a bug or a mistake. I frequently run into issues up-syncing my LR Classic pictures to the cloud. Right now LR Classic reports that is is syncing 10 files. It has reported that for weeks. I have followed the advice of Anshul_Saini, who wrote:

• Sign out of Lightroom Classic, quit the app, relaunch it, and sign back in. After signing back in, let sync run for a few minutes and see if the same photos remain stuck.

I did that.

• Check Lightroom Web. Sign in at https://adobe.ly/49uUY7n
– Look for the same photos that are stuck in Classic
– Clear the Deleted folder, remove any photos inside it from the web interface

I did that.

• Inspect problematic photos
In Lightroom Classic, go to All Synced Photographs and identify the images that won’t sync.
Try selecting one affected photo and changing Metadata > Edit Capture Time and set it to anything, eg, 12:00:00 PM.
This often forces Lightroom to re-evaluate metadata and can unblock stuck sync items.

I did that.

I would like to send my diagnostic log but. there is no ability here to upload a file.

It seems to me that this IS a bug. I encounter the problem often. I see something about syncing being fixed in the July 2026 release. I upgraded and the problem persists.

Thanks, M. Ufuk. You wrote: “...remove one of them from All Synced Photographs, wait for sync to complete, then sync that photo again.” What does it mean “wait for sync to complete”? I removed one and LR Classic immediately went from 10 to 9 images syncing. Other than that, the syncing will not complete.

Since you’ve already gone through the usual troubleshooting steps, I’d try isolating whether it’s the sync database or the catalog entry that’s stuck.

If the same photos are listed as syncing, remove one of them from All Synced Photographs, wait for sync to complete, then sync that photo again. If it syncs normally afterward, the sync state may have become corrupted rather than the photo itself.

If that doesn’t help, another thing worth trying is File > Optimize Catalog and then relaunch Lightroom Classic. There have been cases where optimizing the catalog resolved sync issues that survived signing out and back in.

If the count stays at exactly 10 files no matter what you do, that does sound like something Adobe should investigate, especially if the July 2026 update didn’t change the behavior.
