Update deleted my library

LR lost the 'link' to the root folder, as explained, it is fast and simple to update and all will be fine. Just use the Update Folder Location command and all sub-folders will also be updated. 

Maybe these folders were on an external drive that got disconnected? 

Are you sure an update to LrC occurred? Current update is to v11.3.1 and that was released back on April 20.

If you did receive an update, are sure that LrC opened the correct catalog? Sometimes at an update, but more likely at an upgrade, LrC looses track of the correct previous catalog opened, and either opens the wrong one, or a new one.

I'm using Lightroom on my Macbook Pro running Mac OS 11.6.  Lightroom seemed to have updated something overnight, and when I opened it to work on something, every folder in my library is greyed out. It looks like I have to go back and re-connect every folder in my library one by one, which is a pain.  Is there a quicker way to do this?  And the update shouldn't be changing anything about my library, should it?

The update didn't do this. Something else did this.
