Update DNG converter within Lightroom

The newest version of Adobe DNG Converter supports RAW files from my new Sony Alpha a7 IV. However, the DNG Converter within Lightroom 6 (which is used for Convert During Import function) does not. Is there a way to update the native DNG Converter within Lightroom so it will support my new RAW file format or am I stuck converting outside of Lightroom prior to import?

There's no way to update LR 6 with the new converter -- you'll have to continue converting outside of LR prior to import.
