Update fail Lightroom and Photoshop on iMac Catalina 10.15.7

I just updated my Lightroom and Photoshop - now neither one will open. MacOS Catalina 10.15.7 on late 2013 imac 27" with 16GB ram. Everything worked this morning, now nothing opens at all. Ugh.
