Question

Updated Lightroom Catalog & Now I'm Missing 4,500 Photos!

A couple of weeks ago, Lightroom prompted me to udate my catalog to the latest version. After I did the update, I subsequently opened Lightroom to find only 30 photos in my catalog. Which should have approxamately 4,500 photos. I didn't have time to figure out what the hell happened as I was getting married in a couple weeks. However, now the wedding is over and I need to figure out how to fix this issue.

When I open my folders from which I import my RAW Files, the RAW Files & the paired XMP Files are still there (which you can see in the screenshot below), but when I open Lightroom my Catalog is EMPTY.

Please, help. I have no clue how to fix this. I am far from a Lightroom Expert.

You have upgraded the wrong catalog file.

In Lightroom Classic, use File->Open Recent and try opening each catalog shown there until you find the one you want.

If that doesn't work, then use your operating system to search all disk(s) for any file whose name ends with .LRCAT, then double-click on each one until you find the one you want.

Hi dj_page,

Thank you for responding. I will give this a try and see if I can find anything. I have only every had a single catalog, so I'm not sure how I could have multiple catelog files...? Unless I am just missing something. Thanks again! TBC
