Updated LR today and lost ability to filter by stars

Hello, I updated LR today via the CC app and now the thumbnails in my filmstrip cover part of the tool bar and are cut off on the top.  My option to filter in the loupe mode is also gone.  Meaning, there is no "Filter" option above the film strip on the bottom right.  I tried deleting the preferences file and restarting but it didn't change anything.   Thank you in advance.

Adobe has been struggling with this bug for the past couple of releases.  See this post in the bug report in the official Adobe feedback forum for a workaround: Lightroom: Filmstrip is covering / overlapping filter- and breadcrumb bar | Photoshop Family Customer Community . Please add your me-too vote and the output from Help > System Info to the bug report.
