Using import preset with custom linear profile causes problems

I have a problem when I use a custom linear profile for my Canon R6 during import. I found that, after import, when I export the file to an external application there is a massive color and density shift. This doesn't happen when imported with a standard preset. And, the shift still happens if I apply a standard preset to the imported file. I'm wondering if there is any way to clear whatever metadata is in the intial raw file (with the linear profile) and start over in LR without having to re-import everything.
