Question

Using the classic version or moving to the new LR

I'm trying to decide whether to fully transition to the cloud-based Lightroom or stick with Lightroom Classic. I understand that Topaz Studio/Video/Photo AI currently only integrates as a plugin with Lightroom Classic, not the cloud-based Lightroom. I store all my photos on local hard drives and don't utilize cloud storage. My concern is future compatibility of the Lightroom editing tools themselves. If I invest time learning the Lightroom tools, will Adobe continue to support the full range of these tools within Lightroom Classic? Or is there a risk that future updates might prioritize the cloud-based version, potentially removing or limiting access to certain tools in the Classic version, making my Lightroom Classic skills less useful if I choose to stay with the classic, non-cloud workflow? Basically, I want to know if my Lightroom Classic workflow (using locally stored files and plugins like Topaz) is likely to remain viable long-term and have continued access to the full suite of Lightroom editing tools.

This functionality has been added to LrD as of late last year.  I am currently using Photo AI from both Classic and Desktop.
