Variation on importing photos to light room
When I import photos to photoshop I typically have batches (from a photo shoot) of 10 or 20, but occasionally over 100. The format I use is YYYY_MM_DD_NNN_Descriptor. Where Y is year, M is month, and DD is day. N stands for a 3 digit number sequence, and descriptor is a free form text description of the theme of the shoot, typically the location. Up until now I have been leaving the metadata Title option blank. If I then want to upload the files to Flickr, I either have to edit the titles manually once uploaded manually or do it in photoshop. If I set the title to the photo name, then I know exactly which file they are referring to if they want to buy the print.
I know I can set the photo name to the metadata title, but I want to go the other way around. Maybe if the file (photo) name can be applied to metadata fields (more than one, like label and caption also) then it is something that is flexible.
