Very bad performance with masks
Dear all,
I have serious performance issue with Lightroom Classic: here's a screen recording when editing a couple of pictures on my current laptop.
Please look at system performance also: I see no sign of resource over-usage and CPU is not throttling, GPU is used max at 15% and CPU has 100% peaks. It's as though most of the GPU work is directed to the processor.
This was not happening before AI masks were introduced.
Here's the hw setup of my gaming laptop:
- i7 7700HQ
- GTX 1050Ti fully supported by LrC
- 32GB RAM
- 512 GB SSD (25GB cache, 1:1 previews generated at import)
Look especially at editing of second photo.
LrC is the only sw giving me headaches. It's like if it had memory leaks, slowing everything down.
Nvidia drivers (studio version) are up to date and freshly reinstalled from scratch. Maybe I should use the game ready? Perhaps the studio ones are now bugged?
Funny thing is that after recording the video above, I have closed LrC, reopened and I was still having problems, then I uninstalled LrC preserving setting, reinstalled it and when I reopened it for editing the portrait, all was smooth as butter. So reinstalling LrC solves the problem, but then in time things go havoc again.
